Job Description

Vitamin T is working with a phenomenal agency looking for an Account Director (AD) who will be responsible for the development and stewardship of one of their major accounts. The AD is accountable for providing strategic counsel for clients, for delivering high quality service, maintaining project timeliness, sound fiscal management, and account profitability. The AD develops the scope of work in connection with clients’ business strategy and expectations and manages the workflow process with support from Agency team members. 

Through conscientious oversight of work activity, the AD ensures that the resources of the Agency are coordinated and deployed with maximum effectiveness. Essential responsibilities also include supervision of, and staff development for, the account management personnel assigned to this particular client business (client is in the fast-food space). 


  • In collaboration with the team and discipline leads, the AD develops accountable marketing programs that deliver business results for clients and the Agency; 
  • Manages account P&L by negotiating statements of work and retainers, making sure work is delivered on budget, and expenditures and invoicing are handled properly; 
  • Develops and continuously maintains solid client relationships; 
  • Assumes accountability for account growth and sustainability by providing, on a continual basis, strategic thinking and effective solutions to address the client’s business needs; 
  • Independently leads and makes decisions that properly balance the needs of account and client expectations with Agency goals; 
  • Interfaces strategically and frequently with very high-level clients and occasionally with client's owner-operators; 
  • Acts as lead on cross-agency integrated marketing programs, by participating in multi-agency briefs and work sessions; 
  • Seeks and actively pursues new revenue and new business sources, participates in the development of RFP responses and proposal writing; 


  • Eight to 10 years of work experience in advertising/marketing communications industry. 
  • Thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles of advertising, marketing, media and the emerging trends in marketing communications. 
  • Multi-cultural consumer marketing experience is essential to the role as is contemporary knowledge of that market segment; QSR, CPG, franchise or retail experience are also beneficial. 
  • Proven track record of success managing multi-million-dollar accounts of blue-chip clients. 
  • Experience successfully managing various advertising projects and initiatives, including, TV, web, mobile, video, print, and strategic consulting. 
  • Thorough knowledge of the dynamics of digital and interactive marketing. 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and outstanding presentation skills are essential for the role. 
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications or a closely related field is a requirement, an advanced degree in integrated marketing, business management, or communications is preferred.
