Job Description

Amazing San Diego agency is looking for a Media Planner to join their team full-time. This is a direct-hire opportunity that includes a competitive salary, benefits packages and employee perks.


This Media Planner will be responsible for campaign management of the media efforts for assigned accounts and is expected to have a thorough understanding of the client’s business and marketing objectives. A successful candidate will be able to combine a full range of media channels including digital and traditional media.


The Media Planner must have strong attention to detail, be comfortable with statistics, have a professional demeanor and the ability to quickly change with the needs of client/department/agency all while staying positive and being a team player.



Manage the planning and implementation of a wide variety of client campaigns and media

Develop strategic media plans to implement television, print, online display ads, digital video, and social campaign efforts

Work with the Media Supervisor to make digital media recommendations and supply substantiated backup information to justify those recommendations

Responsibility of planning, optimizing, implementing and analyzing digital marketing activities

Manage daily budgets, billing and day-to-day media activities including digital campaign


Troubleshoot and coordinate with digital ops team, production managers and project managers to ensure trafficking and creative material deadlines are met

Find and report on key performance indicators and opportunities for improvement

Ensure a good working relationship with account teams, analytics and digital ops team to facilitate flawless execution of plans

Serve as day-to-day contact for and foster relationships with major search vendors 



Bachelor’s degree required

Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in an advertising agency or similar setting

Experience with Google Analytics is strongly preferred

Experience working with Sizmek or Doubleclick in ad trafficking, and campaign reporting

Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking capabilities

Strict attention to detail, deadlines, and accuracy

Must have excellent communication skills

Experience partnering with client services & support, marketing, operations, finance, creative, and

other functional teams as appropriate

Mature and professional business acumen in personal and written communications

Advanced experience with Microsoft Office & Excel

Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations


This Media Planner reports to the Media Supervisor.
