Job Description

Our client, a leader in big pharma marketing, is seeking a Media Manager to join their team on an ongoing freelance basis.  The Media Manager plays an important role in the planning and implementation of communication plans to reach and engage patients and health care professionals both online and offline.  The ideal candidate will collaborate directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all media plans are strategically on target and managed efficiently. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Working with client strategy, design and execute multi-channel plans across print and digital to effectively reach patients and healthcare professionals
  • Construct the strategic foundation for media plan development: develop media briefs, define channel plan and media mix strategy, and ensure consistency and visibility across all channels
  • Work with data science team to analyze and report on media performance to make recommendations for optimal ROI
  • Identify paid partnerships, sponsorships and affiliate marketing tactics and manage media partners and vendor relationships
  • Track and report on media spend and budgeting and optimize campaigns month to month
  • Design content strategy per campaign including link strategy, articles placements
  • Supervise the execution of all media buys and confidently present media strategy and performance to clients

 

Day-to-Day responsibilities

 

Develop strategic, effective, and cost-efficient Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Social Advertising and Digital Display Ad campaigns

  • Analyze and optimize targeting, utilizing advanced skills in keyword research and selection, demographics, contextual and behavioral targeting
  • Build and implement Pay Per Click (PPC) ads and paid social campaigns
  • Set and update budgets based on media plans, making sure accounts are pacing properly based on predetermined spends
  • Review accounts pre- and post-launch
  • Work with data science team to optimize on campaign results and perform ad hoc data analysis to support digital strategy team, email strategy team, creative teams, and other cross functional teams
  • Own ongoing optimization efforts to meet client objectives, including daily management of campaign budgets, on-site conversion actions, ad creative, bid management and negative keyword strategies
  • Review and analyze competitor sites
  • Present strategies and findings to internal cross-functional teams and deliver insights to clients
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices and understand how they can be applied to client accounts 


 

Requirements:

  • 5 years creating media strategies and managing execution of media activities across all channels
  • Experience in pharma marketing and media planning required
  • Experience in applying clinical data to targeting efforts
  • Demonstrated success in media strategy development
  • Deep knowledge of paid search, SEO, display, mobile, video, and social campaigns including creative guidelines, targeting and trafficking principals
  • Experience of managing multiple PPC and Paid Social campaigns simultaneously
  • Advanced experience with digital ad platforms and key programs including: AdWords, Facebook Ads Manager, YouTube, GTM, Google Analytics, DCM, any certifications are a plus
  • Previous campaign management experience and an understanding of:
    • Setting up paid search & social accounts from scratch
    • Different types of search engine marketing tactics
    • PPC optimization techniques (ROI / CPA / CPL / Impression Share)
    • Identifying and achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    • Campaign management and optimization best practices
    • Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
    • Display networks and programmatic advertising
  • Experience with reporting and analytics, including strong skills in Excel
  • Ability to analyze data and results, identifying trends and determining key findings and insights--and translate data into actionable insights
  • Working understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript a plus
  • Experience in applying machine learning and AI to targeting and optimization is a plus
