Job Description

Vitamin T is looking for a fantastic retail designer for a global retail real-estate group that is growing at a rapid pace! 

The Retail Designer will provide creative direction and design common area kiosks. There are a couple of different openings so if you have relevant experience - please apply!​


Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate with new retailers to understand their business operations and how these tasks are reflected in the retail layout 
  • Develop preliminary designs for store layouts within the guidelines of the company kiosk criteria 
  • Create & present design renderings to retailer for review/approval 
  • Make modifications to design as needed 
  • Obtain final approval from retailer and Director, VM; Final design will include dimensions, colors and materials board that complement retail use and environment 
  • Provide recommendation for architect that will complete shop drawings 
  • Provide recommendation for fabricators 
  • Act as liaison between retailer, architect and tenant coordination to obtain final approvals 
  • Handle multiple projects at one time and meet all deadlines 
  • Develop generic store layouts for the most common uses 
  • Has a full understanding of cost implications of various materials 
  • Create, update and maintain company common area retail criteria 
  • Work with existing retailers to update their retail design to meet current criteria 
  • Maintain communication with key internal groups such as business development, tenant coordination and mall management teams to ensure tenant issues are resolved and tenant build-outs are executed according to company standards 
  • Responsible for implementation of any company adapted sustainable design initiatives (LEED) 
  • Maintain library of approved designs 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or related Field 
  • 2+ years experience in retail design or interior design
  • Technical Skills and training in the following: Auto Cad, PowerPoint, 3D Studio Max,  Illustrator, In Design, Google Sketch Up, and Adobe Creative Suite for MAC 
  • Understanding of building materials 
  • Excellent organizational skills and excellent time management 
  • Excellent presentation skills 
  • Understanding of design and documentation process
