Our client, a manufacturer of hardworking natural deodorant, beard oils, specialty soaps, & skin care products, is looking for a passionate Senior Digital Marketing Manager to join their team on a permanent basis! 

Start Date: as soon as the right fit is round

Duration: permanent / direct-hire opportunity

​Location: Boston, MA [of note: this company is currently looking to build out their creative / marketing team in the Boston / Greater Boston area -- they do not have a physical office in Boston yet; until they identify an office space, this role would be remote].

Client Description:

Position Overview:

The Digital Marketing Manager’s role is to design, create, and execute digital advertising and marketing programs to support brand awareness, enhance brand reputation, and grow sales through increased traffic to the company website and on-line marketplaces. Responsibilities include planning, development and implementation of various relevant, original, high-quality creative content including ad campaigns, email marketing, social media content, website content, product copy, and blogging. 

Key Skill Requirements: 

  • In depth understanding of web design and web analytic software
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage projects across multiple platforms simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent writing and language skills; ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written format
  • Excellent understanding of digital content marketing, web and email best practices
  • In-depth understanding of paid search campaign management (Google Adwords, Amazon Sponsored Products, Facebook, etc.) including optimization practices 
  • Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
  • Ability to create interesting and engaging visual and written content ensuring optimization of web usability and SEO standards
  • Strong working knowledge of graphic/photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to analyze data and results against KPIs, identifying trends and determining key findings and actionable insights
  • Ability to stay current on digital marketing trends and best practices and understand how they can be applied to enhance future marketing initiatives

Educational and Experience Requirements: 

  • BA/BS in Digital Marketing or a related field required -- if you don't have this -- please do not apply! 
  • at least 6+ years experience in digital marketing environment, ideally with demand generation programs in early-stage growth companies 
  • Google AdWords and Google Analytics certified 


Areas of Responsibility: 

1. General 

  • Lead the growth and development of a first class digital marketing team capable of supporting a fast growing consumer product brand with highly creative and effective marketing initiatives
  • Establish high standards for creative design, innovation, effectiveness and project execution consistent with the Company’s corporate culture
  • Create and maintain an online business plan and keep current knowledge of online trends

2. Website Content & Maintenance 

  • Responsible for all online activities and website maintenance including daily monitoring, back end coding updates, optimizing mobile devise compatibility and managing relationships/storefronts with Amazon and Shopify
  • Effectively manage website enhancements in conjunction with outside technical consultants and app developers to maximize customer engagement, ease of navigation and SEO
  • Manage/produce/write marketing content for the website including editing content from Digital Marketing Coordinator and other team members
  • Review and analyze competitor websites in an effort to enhance performance of Company’s site and competitive positioning
  • Based on changes in product offerings and seasonal campaigns, update the website with new photos, banners, video, keyword rich content, etc
  • Create informative and intriguing product copy
  • Identify relevant topics and develop interesting articles for blog posts
  • Lead the re-design and development of the Company’s next generation website(s) based on best practices and optimizing the brand experience for our customers


3. On-line Advertising 

  • Develop effective and cost-efficient Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Social Advertising and Digital Display Ad programs to help achieve sales goals
  • Set up Pay Per Click (PPC), Cost Per Thousand (CPM) and Cost Per Click/Call (CPC) ads and campaigns (Google Adwords, Amazon Sponsored Products, Facebook, etc.), including writing ad copy and selecting landing pages
  • Set and update budget caps, making sure accounts are pacing properly based on predetermined spends
  • Review metrics against expected/forecasted results, measure channel effectiveness and ROI on all marketing campaigns providing actionable analysis and insights
  • Own ongoing optimization efforts, including daily management of campaign budgets, on-site conversion actions, ad creative, bid management and negative keyword strategies


4. Email Marketing 

  • Develop innovative and engaging email marketing campaigns in order to drive traffic to Company websites
  • Create and implement email marketing schedule
  • Develop and execute effective tactics for aggressively growing the Company’s mailing list
  • Analyze email marketing metrics to determine effectiveness, measure ROI and identify improvement opportunities
  • Review and analyze competitor electronic marketing programs in an effort to enhance performance of Company’s programs 


5. Social Media Management 

  • Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive social media strategies that align with brand strategy including monitoring and evaluating campaign effectiveness using analytics tools
  • Become an advocate for the company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate
  • Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts
  • Develop and expand brand awareness and online reputation
  • Develop compelling visual and written content for the company’s multiple brands over multiple social platforms and schedule posts
  • Maintain design (ie: Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, Blog, etc.) 
  • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize ROI
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy
